Will Pest Control Get Rid of Ants?

Since moving to Arizona I have dealt with many reality checks when it comes to bugs. The way insects interact with food in Arizona is completely different from Colorado. One Sunday night I mistakenly left my Jamba Juice in the car. The irony of this is I parked next to a bush and jokingly said to my friend on the phone “How much you wanna bet I walk out and there is some type of animal in my car.”

That Monday morning I head back to my car, in a rush to get to school and there are ants everywhere. Not normal ants, red ants. Monday’s are the best, right? Anyways, my first instinct was to go in and kill all of them, not too soon after I realized that was not going to work. The struggling college student I was, I decided to drive to school anyway and deal with it later. The whole time in the car I was going nuts because there were ants in every corner.

While in class the Ants were all I could think about. I was so emotionally scarred, I could not stop itching my body. I could literally envision them crawling all over my body. It was like that episode in Phineas and Ferb, where the song Ants and Pants was going viral, and Candace actually had ants in her pants and she couldn’t handle it. I had ants in my car, pants, and on my mind. I feel like the worst part of having ants in my car was the emotions I felt that day. Call me dramatic, but I felt dirty and disgusting.

After I finished all of my classes, I went to Target and bought essential items, which include: Terro Liquid Ant Baits, a lime scented surface cleaner, and Aunt Fannies Ant Remedy. As soon as I was done buying these, I went to the car wash. Cleaned the outside of my car and vacuumed every single red ant insight.

After I was done vacuuming I noticed these ants were so little, they appeared in every part of the vehicle. I sprayed my seats with Aunt Fannies and I placed the Ant Bait under my seats and in between them as well. On the way back home, for some reason I was really expecting them to be gone. I was expecting it to take that one try and I would not have to deal with them for the rest of that day, but obviously they weren’t. The turn into my house, I saw an ant crawling on my dashboard, and I bursted into tears. I felt so defeated. I was so upset I planned on Ubering to school the next day, but luckily I did not have to. The next morning I went to my car and they were gone! The joy I felt in my body was so erratic, I started dancing.

I think about how, if it was not for those products I would have been dealing with the ants until they decided to find a new home. Hiring a pest control company was way out of my price range so I had to roll with my own pest control. Those products were a big help and I plan on using those same ones my entire time in Arizona. So to answer the question, yes. Pest control does indeed get rid of ants.
